Hi i have a small colony of F. Rufibarbis (around 15workers) they are in antkit acrylic nest size 2. Any idea on why she is not laying?

im sorry but i dont think i got what you meant to say there :D.did you catch them when they were flying? if so what country do you live in? and why are there some majors in the nest? Dont worry about them starving they are claustral species (they dont need food but a little drop of honey would help)...

Ok so first fo all you should mix anqueens if you dont know their species. 2. U should put the queens you catch into a testube setup not a formicarium. 3. I wouldnt recommend putting random workers in with queens. What is the size of the queens? What color do they have? Are they shiny or are they co...

Thanks for your feedback.I will make sure to not think about sending ants in envelopes. also I will try to ask around few antshops if they are interested in buying queens in higher numbers and see if they are interested.

I just looked around on the internrt and i found 2 shipping companys near me GEIS and DPD the cheapest price i could find was 35 euro to UK and i bit less to germany and western europe. But slovak post looks like the best option so far.

I was thinking about wraping the test tubes in bubble wrap and putting them in envelopes because that would reduce the cost of shipping from 17euro for a box to 5 or less for the envelope. (box is always 17 but envelopes are priced depending on the country) i guess i will have to look for something ...

For me its Tetramorium,Solenopsis Fugax, Formica Rufibarbis,Lasiu niger and brunneus.

Plaster is the easiest to get for me and grout is the hardest :)

Nothing has really happened queens has laid some eggs and all the pupa has hatched (12 workers i think) I feed them chicken,tuna and honey. I have added an outworld to their setup so i can feed the easily, they try to drag everything i feed them into the testube. I will be leaving tomorow for 7 days...

Worker count has increased to 10 or 11.
Queen has laid a batch of egg.
They like everything i feed them (cooked chicken,honey)
