I suggest a mixed seeds I think Messor tend to like rapeseed and they are small

Thanks guys much appreciated what I did was put a thermometer inside the outworld and the probe outside with the heat mat to monitor the temperature and it's worked well:)

thanks i got them in winter and they made it i think heat pack would work but i did read they are temp sensitive

I see so you have no control over the temperature? How does thermostat control the temp for a heat mat or does it? Any alternatives to heat mats?

I recommend diluting and using cotton wool to absorb the honey solution it will be a little going a long way!

They are a difficult species to keep so I hear as mentioned in the post due to their temp and humidity requirements! But do the research first and I am sure you will do well! Age is just a number:). Good luck!

I bred all my ants in small pétri dishes and it worked perfectly, I don't think space is an issue at all as long as the conditions are right Wow that's amazing and how did you mimic the conditions what did you do? Thanks for the advice greatly appreciated all my queens are in tubes I was just worried! Mould is a bane for every ant keeper lol. I heard rapeseed oil diluted can hold of and kill mould without harming ants

It's certainly possible but time and space are the issue. Youd need atleast two large colonies of the same species, side by side with open top arenas. Place them inside a small(escape proof) room like a greenhouse or conservatory . Have appropriate lighting and appropriate humidity and you'll easil...
