Camponotus paria in a smaller size now with about 5-10 workers and

Diacamma rugosum about 30 workers.

Hi Elitz, In all honesty I have not received the species yet. I ordered 2 queens a couple of days ago, as I was listing the ants I had, I thought i would put these on the list as well so I would not have to go back and alter it later. I suspect the queen will be on her own or possibly with some eggs...

These are species i am considering for the ant room. Aphaenogaster senilis Camponotus paria Crematogaster scutellaris Diacamma rugosum Messor aciculatus I would like to venture into warmer species of ant who do not need to be hibernated. Which I believe the C. paria and the D. rugosum are under this...

I received a queen on her own on the 3rd July from a Polish supplier. The test tube she was sent in was not in the most presentable of conditions. There is a slight crack, a hole with sellotape over it, however the queen herself looked brilliant. Here she is today. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums...

Nice collection of queens. Have you timed how long before that volume of water disappears? I was thinking what a nightmare having to move all those queens, plus the stress on them if you do have to move them before you sell them. I am on the understanding another supplier moves the queen, egg, larva...

Wooo, that seems quite an experience you had there Flavus.

I understand it can be quite easy using a paint brush. Apparently the ants grab hold on the brush hairs and you can top them into a jar, etc.

I find myself cotton buds work really well.
