This is how our story begins on the 6th July 2017. It was a warm sunny evening when the queens were spotted. The kids collected six Lasius niger queens of which 3 went into a test tube setup. The test tubes are now in the bathroom cupboard covered by a tea towel.
The wait begins...............

Looks good, make sure the queen has a good amount of workers before u add them into the new nest in future. :)

Queens doing ok....eggs present and getting bigger by the looks of it. One queen looks as if there are no eggs yet.....or just a few hidden...
