Well, mine are not exactly what you'd call "exotic" but they aren't native either - they're Camponotus barbarcius from Southern Europe/North Africa (Spain, Sicily, Morocco, Tunisia) kept in Central Europe. They can even be found in southern France (rarely though, that area is mostly overrun by argentines) which is just one country away.
