Hello guys I got 1 queen and 2 workers from antkit 08/12/15 and they where doing very well and eating. Only one ant would leave the nest but he seem very interested in the foods I gave him ;)

Sadly the worker seen in all these photos died leaving the queen with a single worker.

The queens eggs have not got grown at all in 3 months and that leads me to believe there unviable and she's not had any more. Am feeding her and her worker regularly and they are now fully enclosed in a test tube and part heated but no progress at all. I am worried but am hanging on to hope for now. :)

so you understand why am so interested i will need to explain that my queen has never gotten eggs to the larvae the entire time i have had her or layied any new ones since i got her, today i was in getting last nights chicken out when i found this under the pipet on the out side so i moved it to next to the queen and within 5 mins the worker moved it to the top end of the testube next the the exit so then i added today egg and captured this video

I wonder if there abandoning it or will i be getting my 1st ant from this queen since i have had her 3-4 months now

Sad news. The new born was dead when I woke up today. And after looking over her eggs none are ready but I was just adding food for the queen and I saw this. From nowhere I think the queen might have prematurely open up a cocoon. Any one know ?
There was no traces of a ant like this about 2 hours before ImageImage

The larva that pupated didnt have something to start of its cacoon. I have three pupa like this in my camponotus ligniperdus but i have only seen one hatch. Nice pile of brood :-)

Sure I have heard of that. Makes sense let's hope it makes it for the queens sake ;)

Out off all my ants this queen has had all the bad look. Even my mates call her. No mates as she's still a test tube ant

What do they call her? I hope she doesn't get bullied.

It's good this queen has had some bad luok recently. Lost both her workers. Then over night from nowhere a new worker showed up and now looks like things might be ok for her. Eggs are up and she's well fed

Well. Here's more good news. This morning I woke to find a third worker. And all they are doing all the time is trying to escape the test tube. When I feed them one ant comes out and sits on top of the test tube and look about the shelf. Then back in so I have decided to give them access to the out world only temporarily to see how it goes if you doesn't go well I'll go back to being sealed in the test tubeImageImage
